What is Sound Medicine?
Sound medicine is a foundational practice in ancient Chinese Medicine healing. Sound medicine exists in the forms of single healing notes, mantras and sacred sound bowls. Music as a sacred medicine impacts all living things. Studies with plants, animals and humans amplify the positive and the destructive effects of variations in sound frequencies.
Five Element philosophy focuses upon 5 notes that resonate into various regions of your body. The vibration creates a healing frequency resonance into our cells. Sound is vibration whose waves cause things to vibrate -- even the cells in our bodies. It is my experience that sound healing is part of returning presence and re-remembering for our whole healthy nature.
Sound Resonance
Sound resonance, vibration and frequency alter and transform somatic-emotional states. Sounds can heal, and they can harm. They can calm, or they can make us recoil. We experience the sound of a jack hammer or leaf blower as agitating or we can experience our own ability to huummm as soothing and calming.
In Chinese medicine the root of the tongue is connected with the heart. In fascial science there are fascial connections between the heart/lungs through the throat to the brain. The meridian energetic pathways of Chinese medicine flow throughout the entire body. Our cells are vibrating and inter-connecting all the time.
How it Works
I use simple tools for healing sound vibration. The first is what comes from within you - your voice. With single notes or specific sounds, resonance to meridian and organ systems dispels our tensions and toxins.
Sacred alchemical crystal sound bowls are designed with infused crystals, adding to their potent healing frequencies; each note creating its own harmonic vibration. The sound waves soothe and smooth our fried and frazzled nervous systems, creating spaciousness and vibrance for healing.
